## Using filters

All dashboards support filtering:

* **Food Category** — narrow results to specific categories (e.g., "Ice cream" or "Bread")
* **Ingredient** — search for a specific ingredient by name or INS number
* **Industry Group** (Premium/Enterprise only) — switch between industry views

<Tip>Filters apply across all charts on the dashboard. Set your filters once, and every chart updates automatically.</Tip>

## Understanding the data

### Usage limits

Each ingredient-category permission includes a usage limit:

| Limit Type | What it means |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Max 500 mg/kg** | Maximum permitted level in milligrams per kilogram of food |
| **Open dose (GMP)** | No numeric limit — use at levels consistent with Good Manufacturing Practice |
| **Excluded** | Not permitted in this food category |

### Difficulty ratings

<Note>Difficulty ratings are visible on Premium and Enterprise tiers only.</Note>
